Day 1
Lean Six Sigma Foundations & Define
- Explain the principles of Lean, Six Sigma and continuous improvement.
- Identify customer requirements and Critical to Quality (CTQ) characteristics.
- Recognise the eight wastes and opportunities for improvement.
- Create a project charter with clear objectives, scope and benefits.
- Apply SIPOC and Voice of the Customer tools to define a project.
Day 2
Measure
- Map processes using SIPOC, process maps and value stream maps.
- Develop effective data collection plans and operational definitions.
- Distinguish between different types of data and measurement methods.
- Assess the reliability of measurement systems.
- Establish baseline performance using key Six Sigma metrics.
Day 3
Analyse
- Apply root cause analysis techniques to investigate process issues.
- Use graphical analysis tools to identify patterns and trends.
- Interpret process variation and its impact on performance.
- Apply basic statistical techniques to support decision-making.
- Validate root causes using data-driven analysis.
Day 4
Improve
- Generate improvement ideas using structured problem-solving techniques.
- Apply Lean tools such as 5S, visual management and mistake-proofing.
- Prioritise solutions based on impact, feasibility and risk.
- Design future-state processes that improve efficiency and quality.
- Develop implementation plans to support successful change.
Day 5
Control & Project Delivery
- Develop control plans to sustain process improvements.
- Use control charts and performance measures to monitor results.
- Calculate and communicate project benefits and business impact.
- Engage stakeholders and transfer ownership of improved processes.
- Successfully complete the Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification examination.
