Professor Laura Serrant CBE is a global, multi-award-winning Leadership development and Inclusive practice specialist, professional speaker, and experienced coach. She is Director of her own Leadership Development and Executive Coaching business, Laura Serrant Limited.
Laura works with Professionals and organisations to help them meet their personal aspirations, improve their business impact, client experiences and deliver their best of themselves. Her specialist consultancy focusses on Leading diverse teams (Leadership for inclusion) and supporting diverse/minoritized leaders (Leadership through Inclusion). Her professional speaking spans a variety of related subjects including: Leadership, Inclusive cultures at work, Optimising Self-Agency and Navigating ‘silences’ to advance self and Career.
Author of over 100 articles, including edited books, she is one of the BBC Expert women and was named as the 8th most influential Black person in Britain by the Powerlist 2018 and has featured in the top 100 in 2019, 2020, 2021 and 2022. In 2024 she was awarded an CBE for services to Nursing and Health Policy. In 2024 she was awarded Freedom of the city of London by the Lord Mayor.
Her seminal poem ‘You Called…And We Came’ commemorates the anniversary of the Empire Windrush landing and the NHS. The poem stands as the inscription on the National Windrush Monument in Waterloo Station, London.
She has a successful podcast series “Speaking for Ourselves” available across most social media platforms. Her family are from The Commonwealth of Dominica, West Indies.
